Gregory Shumer, MD
Gregory Shumer is a third-year medical student at Georgetown University School of Medicine. After graduating from the University of Michigan with a degree in Biology and Asian Studies, Gregory spent a year teaching English to middle-school students in rural Japan. He started writing essays, poems, and short stories in high school and now continues to enjoy writing as a medical student. He looks forward to his future career in primary care. TDWI Writer’s Group member, Dr. Margaret Cary, developed and teaches the Narrative Medicine/Personal Essay course at Georgetown University School of Medicine.
