Lauren Klingman is a third-year medical student at Georgetown University School of Medicine. She is originally from the Bay Area and attended undergraduate at Evansville in Indiana. She received a BFA in theatre performance and pursued an MFA in fine arts performance before she gave that up to pursue a calling in medicine. She wrote this piece during her first year of medical school.
